Lena Mae Ray

Bartow- Lena Mae Ray, age 89, passed away on Friday, January 28, 2022 at her home in Bartow. Born July 21, 1932 in Brooksville, she was the daughter of the late Berman Asbel and Drew (Curry) Asbel. Mrs. Ray worked as a Bookkeeper for the Polk County Sheriff's Office and the Polk County Clerk of the Courts in Bartow. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Hubert Ray in 1997. She is survived by a loving family that includes her daughters: Carol Cothern of Lakeland, Linda Hartt (Charles) of Cocoa, her grandchildren: Brett Cothern of Lakeland, Travis Hartt of Cocoa, Zachary Hartt of Cocoa, Lindsey Hartt (Fiance, Ray Gann, III.) of Rockledge and her great grandchild, Ray Gann IV. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 5th from 1:30pm to 2:30pm at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow. Graveside services will follow at Wildwood Cemetery at 3:00pm in Bartow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cornerstone Hospice or a charity of one's choice.
