Leedell Elbert Yarbrough

Leedell Elbert Yarbrough, age 95, of Fort Meade, FL, died Thursday, January 13, 2011, at his Residence in Fort Meade. Mr. Yarbrough was born March 13, 1915 in Chicora, FL. He Served in the Coast Guard during World War II. He was a General Foreman for 45 years for Swift & Company. Before Swift & Company, he was a carpenter and built homes with his Father, Louis Yarbrough. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Fort Meade. He was also a member of American Legion Post #23 in Fort Meade. He is survived by his wife LaVone Pollard Yarbrough of Fort Meade. Three Daughters: Sharon Taylor & Eileen Moody both of Fort Meade and Lee Ann Aycock of Bartow. Two Step Sons: Bill McPherson & Bob McPherson both of Fort Meade. Step Daughter, Sandra Lingard of Van Horne, IA. Sister, Jeanette Albritton of Fort Meade. Thirteen Grandchildren, Sixteen Great Grandchildren and One Great Great Grandchild. Arrangements are being handled by McLean Funeral Home, 306 East Broadway in Fort Meade, FL, where the family will receive friends from 4 to 6 PM Sunday, January 16, 2011. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Monday, January 17, 2011 at McLean Funeral Home, Rev. Kenny Slay officiating. Interment will be at Bethlehem Cemetery.
