Laverne "Muir" H. Kersey

Lakeland,FL - Laverne H. "Muir" Kersey, 92, passed away Friday, February 9, 2018 at Clare Bridge in Lakeland. Born September 18, 1925 in Washington County, GA. She was the youngest daughter of Teresa and George Jackson Hood. She was a member of Crystal Lake United Methodist Church in Lakeland. She retired from Publix Super Markets where she worked in the Bakery. She loved spending time with family and always had a keen sense of humor. She was preceded in death by her husband; Edward H. "Ted" Kersey and four sisters and four brothers. She is survived by her two sons; Reena Johnson of Lakeland and Glen Johnson and wife Rosa of Lithia, two daughters; Cheryl Williams and husband Wes of Lakeland and Pam Williams and husband Jesse of Lake City. Eleven grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. Family will receive friends Monday, February 12, 2018 from 1 to 2 pm at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow. The Funeral service will follow Monday, February 12, 2018, at 2:00 pm at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Lakeland Memorial Gardens in Lakeland. A special thanks to Aniella RN Vitas Hospice nurse and Clare Bridge Facility for their compassionate care given to our Mother.
