Larry William Macblane

Larry William MacBlane, age76 and resident of Bartow, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2018 in Tampa. Born November 30, 1941 in Blossburg, PA, he was the son of late Lewis W. and Mary E. (Wheeler) MacBlane. Larry served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Mr. MacBlane retired as a  Lieutenant from the New York State Department of Corrections after many years of service. He was also a member of the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church of Bartow, the Bartow Kiwanis Club, the Masonic Lodge of Elmira, NY and a Past Commander of the American Legion Post #3 in Bartow. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter Sunny English in 2009. He is survived by a loving family that includes his wife of 47 years, Sherry MacBlane of Bartow, his children: Joette MacBlane and Lance MacBlane both of Lakeland, his son-in-law Chris English of Bartow, his siblings: Robert MacBlane (Elaine) and Sharon Fleming all of Elmira, NY and his two grandchildren Marissa English and William English. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 28th from 10am to 11am at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 500 W. Stuart St., Bartow, FL 33830. A memorial service will follow at 11:00am at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Holy Trinity Episcopal Church at the same address.
