Larry C. Coker

Larry C. Coker, age 73, of Ruskin, died Tuesday, October 5, 2010, at Lifepath Hospice in Ruskin, Fla. Born September 3, 1937 in Highland City, FL, Mr. Coker has lived in Ruskin 8 years. He was a former resident of Bartow, also living in Ellenton and Brandon. He worked many years in the phospate industry, most recently as a chemical terminal manager for ITC. He was a past member of the Brandon Jaycees; past Honorary Mayor, City of Brandon and former East Hillsborough County chairman of Ducks Unlimited. He is survived by his wife of 51 years: Sylvia DeLoach Coker of Ruskin; 2 sons: Eric Lawrence Coker & wife Carol of Whitehouse Station, N.J. & Keith E. Coker of Palmetto; 2 grandchildren: Megan Coker & Christopher Coker; 2 great grandchildren: Aiden Coker & Carly Kizer, all of Douglas, Ga. Family will receive friends Friday, Oct 8, from 6-8 pm at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. Graveside funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct 9, at 2:00 PM at Wildwood Cemetery in Bartow.
