L. C. Geiger

Mr. Lawrence Clarence "Sid" Geiger, 73, died Thursday, September 20, 2007 in Bartow. Born August 24, 1934 in Lake Garfield, Mr. Geiger was the son of Ernest Clarence and Bernice Louise Geiger and a lifelong resident of the Bartow area. Mr. Geiger worked as a fabricator for Xerxes and more recently he was the head security guard for Carlton Arms Apts. in Lakeland. He was also a former fire fighter at the Bartow Air Base and was also a Pentecostal minister. Mr. Geiger is survived by a family that includes his wife of 53 years, Betty Jean Geiger of Bartow, two daughters; Janet Geiger Robitzsch (Kenny) of Homeland, Cathy Geiger Smith (Patrick) of Plant City, his son, Lawrence C. "Larry" Geiger, Jr. (Darice) of Bartow, his brother, Robert Geiger of Eagle Lake, two sisters; Carolyn Sansom and Christine Watson both of Bartow. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Visitation for Mr Geiger will be Monday, September 24, 2007 from 6 PM to 8 PM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, 650 East Main Street, Bartow. Services will follow Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home chapel.
