Kevin E. Varner

Kevin E. Varner, age 76, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2025. He was born October 13, 1948 in Carlinville, IL to Ellis & Eileen Varner, Kevin was a Citrus Owner & Rancher. Blue Ribbon citrus was his start in the industry. It was a family venture with his dad (Ellis), brother (Brian) and sister (Annette). In later years, Kevin established Varner Marketing company, growing his business and love for the industry. He poured his life and love into his business. He spent most of his time tending to the ranch. That was his happy place, and he was darn good at it. He was a member of Alturas Community Church. Kevin lived life to the fullest, doing what he loved, which was tending to the ranch, attending church and serving his Lord. He was honest, reliable, a smart businessman and tough as nails. One of the last real cowboys. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Mike Varner and Brian Varner and sister Annette Hastings. He is survived by his two nephews Daniel Varner and Seth Hastings, niece Lindsey Varner and sister-in-law Susan Moon. Family will receive friends Friday, March 21, 2025 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Alturas Community Church, 2745 Oak Drive in Alturas, FL. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 am Friday, March 21, 2025, at Alturas Community Church.
