Fort Meade- Kenneth Allen Hancock, age 82, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2020 in Lakeland. Born November 26, 1937 in Okeechobee he was the son of the late Philip and Clarice (Allen) Hancock. Mr. Hancock was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Kenneth retired from the Florida Department of Transportation as a Highway Design Engineer after many years of service. He then went on to work as a Consultant for the FDOT and also worked in the Public Works Department for the City of Bartow . He was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Fort Meade. Mr. Hancock is survived by a loving family that includes his wife of 56 years, Janet Durrance Hancock of Fort Meade, his children: Marcus K. Hancock (Wendy) of Lakeland, Jane Rodgers (Jeff) of Bradenton, his siblings: Vernon Hancock, Margie Slay, and Kathryn Shirley (Mack) all of Fort Meade. He also leaves behind his grandchildren: Jessica Cuzzone (Scott), Jake Rodgers, Jenna Rodgers, Kendal Hancock, Carter Hancock and his great grandchildren: Gaige Cuzzone and Emersyn Cuzzone along with many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 19th from 10am to 11am at the First Baptist Church of Fort Meade. Funeral services will follow at 11:00am at the church. Interment will take place at Hancock Cemetery in Fort Meade.
