Ken W. Matthews

Kennneth W. Matthews, age 51, passed away Sunday, September 4, 2011 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in Lakeland of respiratory failure. Born July 2, 1960 in Caro, MI, Mr. Matthews was a resident of Bartow for 27 years , moving from Michigan. He was with Polk County Department of Transportation for 27 years, serving as Roadway Maintenance Manager in recent years. Mr. Matthews was survived by two sons: Kenneth W Matthews, II, & Andrew Matthews, both of Bartow; a daughter: Adrienne Adcock of Bradley, FL; mother: Marcella Likens of Bartow; four brothers: Harrold Likens of Bartow; Chuck Matthews of Lake Wales; David Likens of Clearfield, UT & John Likens of Syracuse, UT; three sisters: Deb Matthews of Lakeland; Diane Likens of Dewy Rose, GA & Terri Likens of Tampa; , grandmother: Dorothy Grabowski of Detroit, MI & 4 Grandchildren. Family will receive friends Wednesday, September 7, 2011 from 6-8:00 PM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 8, 2011, at 11:00 AM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home.
