Homeland- Keightley Garrard Stringfellow, 68, died May 9, 2010 at her residence of cancer. Born December 18, 1941 in Wauchula, FL to Jobe and Esther Garrard, Mrs. Stringfellow was a resident of Homeland since 2001, moving from Alturas where she had been a longtime resident. A graduate of Bartow Summerlin Institute, she later graduated with a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Florida in 1963. She earned the designation of C.P.A. in 1964 and practiced for over 45 years, most recently with NCT Group in their Winter Haven office. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church of Bartow and enjoyed quilting, walking and family. Keightley was a member of Bartow Chamber Leadership Class 2 and served on the Chamber's Board of Directors for 6 years and as President in 1993. She also served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Bartow Memorial Hospital for over 15 years and as Chairman in 1991.
Keightley was preceded in passing by her husband William "Bill" Stringfellow and is survived by her sons and daughters-in law, Joel & wife Charity Daniels of Savannah, GA and Clifford & wife Jennifer Daniels of Bartow; grandchildren Keightley, Sarah and Nathan Daniels of Savannah and Mason and Grady Daniels of Bartow; Cousins JoAnn and Donald Serdynski of Avon Park, Tracy Serdynski of Tampa and Kelly Gray of West Virginia and the world renowned Citrus Cinderellas. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 500 W. Stuart St. Bartow, immediately followed by a celebration of her life at the home of Don and Holly Wilson in Homeland. In lieu of flowers,
Keightley requested that donations be made to the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church; Florida Sheriff's Youth Ranches or the Women's Care Center and/or Church Service Center of Bartow. Arrangements are with Whidden-McLean Funeral Home.
