Kathleen Gale Berg Goettl

Kathleen Gale Berg Goettl, age 60, of Fort Meade, FL, died Monday, March 26, 2007, at her Residence in Fort Meade. Kathy was born to Vernon & Ruth Berg on July 31, 1946. She grew up in the New Auburn, Bloomer, Wisconsin area. She was the oldest of 3 brothers and 2 sisters. She attended grade school & high school in Bloomer. There she met the love of her life, Curtis Goettl. They were high school sweethearts & they were married on June 22, 1963. They were blessed with two daughters, Colleen and Michele. Kathy & Curt lived in Bloomer for a short time then moved to the Chicago area where Curt was employed with Chippewa Motor Freight. A few years later Curt's job took them to Hudson, WI. This is where they raised their girls & lived for thirty years. Kathy started her career in the medical field at this time. She became a Health Care Coordinator. The last twenty years of her medical career was spent at Ramsey, now Regions, Hospital on the coronary care unit, located in St. Paul, MN. She was well respected & liked by the doctors, nurses & staff of the hospital. Kathy loved doing any kind of ministry. Over the years she spent most every Monday night at the assisted living center sharing & reading her Bible to the many people she befriended there. Right after Kathy retired in the fall of 1997, she & her family sold their house & bought a fifth wheel trailer. They went full time into the RV MAPS Ministry. She & Curt traveled the far reaches of this beautiful country of ours, building Churches, Teen Challenge Centers, Bible Colleges, Bible Camps, Royal Ranger Camps, or anything else where there was a need. She also did extensive ministry south of the border in Mexico. After six & a half years Kathy was stricken with Multiple System Atrophy. Kathy & Curt bought a home in South Central Florida. Kathy still continued to touch peoples lives. She was a member of Becida Community Church in Becida, MN. She is survived by her husband Curtis Goettl of Fort Meade, FL; Two Daughters, Michele Butler of Baraboo, WI. & Colleen Werlein of Bemidji, MN.; Two Sisters, Claudia Culp of NV. & Krisi Anderson of WI.; Three Brothers, Kevin Berg of AK., Gary Berg of CA., & Kyle Berg of WI.; & Six grandchildren. Arrangements in are being handled by McLean Funeral Home, 306 East Broadway, Fort Meade, FL., where the family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM Tuesday, March 27, 2007. Funeral service will be at Camp Wilderness at 3:30 PM Wednesday, March 28, 2007. Rev. Ed White officiating. The family will also receive friends on Monday, April 2, 2007 at Olson, W & D, Funeral Home, 1516 Larson St., Bloomer, WI. from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM with a funeral service following at 3:30 PM.
