Katherine E. Smith

Bartow- Katherine E. Smith, 84, a resident of Bartow, died Wed, Nov 21, 2007, at the Rohr Nursing Home in Bartow of respiratory failure. A native of Kissimmee, FL, Mrs. Smith resided in the Bartow area for many years. She was a retired Postmaster for the US Postal Service, serving in Fort Meade & Pierce, FL. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Bartow. She was the grandaughter of Kate Douglas Mann. She is preceded in death by a son: Robert Eugene Ragsdale. She is survived by her husband: Robert Kennon Smith of Bartow; 2 daughters: Jan Katherine Barrett of Birmingham, AL; Nancy Louise Kolski & husband Frank of Orlando; son: V.H. "Buz" Ragadale III & wife Sybil of Elberton, GA; daughter-in-law: Susan Ragsdale of Seneca, S.C.; brother: George "Sonny" Wilson of Lorida, FL; 3 Grandchildren & 2 great grandchildren. Memorial services will be Friday Nov 23, 10 AM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, 650 E. Main St, Bartow.
