Julia C. Tice

Julia C. Tice 72 of Bartow passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at the Gainesville Healthcare Center. Born on May 28, 1939 in Fort Meade she was a lifelong resident of Bartow. She was part owner of the family business Alpha Materials in Bartow and owned and operated Tice Ranch with her late husband David H. Tice. She was also a member of the First Church of God in Fort Meade. She was preceded in death by her husband David H. Tice and a son David Tice Jr. Julia is survived by a daughter Julie Harrison and husband Kenneth of Bell, FL. Son Gerald Tice and wife Patsy of Fletcher, NC. Five brothers Buddy Childress and wife Irene of Fort Worth, TX; Ronnie Childress and wife Lena of Fort Meade, FL; Donnie Childress and wife Carol of Bartow, FL; Paul Childress and wife Lorraine of Fort Meade, FL and Gary Childress of Harrington, KS. Three sisters Shirley Gobble and husband Dan of Fort Meade, FL; Margaret Grandmont of Fort Meade; Virginia Williams of Bartow, FL and seven grandchildren. A visitation will be held Friday, September 9th from 6-8pm at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow. Funeral services will follow on Saturday at 1pm at the Funeral Home.
