Judson H. Drewry

Judson H. "Jud" Drewry, age 89, passed away at his home on Monday, May 7, 2018 in Lakeland. Born November 19, 1928 in Griffin, GA, he was the son of the late Judson H. and Elizabeth Louisa (Harris) Drewry. Mr. Drewry was a graduate of the University of Georgia and quickly started his career in the phosphate industry. Jud retired after 35 years of service from International Minerals and Chemicals (I.M.C.) Corporation. He served as Director of Sales, Senior Vice President of Agricultural Operations, Managing Director , President of IMC International before finally settling in as Vice President of Florida Operations. Mr. Drewry served IMC throughout the United States, Canada, and France. He was a member of Saint John Neumann Catholic Church in Lakeland. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Emily Drewry, his brother, Mac Drewry, and granddaughter Galadriel Drewry. Jud is survived by a loving family that includes his wife of 24 years, Mary Drewry of Lakeland, his children: Libby Dorris (Larry) of Nashville, TN, Mimi Drewry of St. Paul, MN, Lisa Neff (John) of Dublin, GA, Jan Brister (Charles) of Madison, MS, his step children: Kevin Giliam of Lakeland, Nikki McGovern (Bill) of Orlando and Marc Giliam also of Lakeland. Mr. Drewry also leaves behind his nine grandchildren: Jason, Leigh, Brad, Meghan, Judson, Will, Layne, Matthew, Luke. Other survivors include his eight step grandchildren: Lindsay, Logan, Lily, Luke, Cohen, Kennedy, Billy, Molly and his six great grandchildren: Kaija, Sidalee, McCulley, Charlie, Thomas and Wade. A memorial mass will be held at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 501 East Carter Road in Lakeland on Saturday, June 2nd at 11:30am. A mass of Christian burial and interment will take place on June 16, 2018 in Mobile, AL.
