Judith "Judy" Elliotte

June 14, 1943 — January 19, 2021

Bartow - Judith "Judy" Elliotte, age 77, passed away January 19, 2021 in Greenville, SC. She was born June 14, 1943 in Lakeland, FL to Andrew & Ellen Austin. She grew up in Mulberry but became a lifelong resident of Bartow after graduating from Georgia Southern in 1966. Judy was an Elementary School Teacher for 36 years. During her tenure, she influenced literally thousands of students! From Alturas to Bartow, a majority of her years were spent teaching third grade at James E. Stephens Elementary. Those who had her in class remember her for the way she went above and beyond to help and LOVE every student. Her fellow teachers remember her for her constant smile, energy, and kindness. She simply had a teacher’s heart for education, and it shined through her in and out of the classroom! She enjoyed traveling and cruising with her husband and close friends, spoiling her grandchildren, baking pound cakes and brownies, and giving of herself to others. Judy was the epitome of a care giver. She was a member of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church of Bartow and loved her church family! She is survived by her husband of 55 years William "Ray" Elliotte of Bartow, two daughters; Jill Blume of Greenville, SC and Jan James & husband J.P. of Bartow, and six grandchildren; Jack, Andy, Megan, William, Elliotte and Ryleigh, three brothers; Gene Austin & wife Jeanie, Jerry Austin & wife Bernie both of Bartow and Patrick Austin & wife Lynn of Lakeland. Family will receive friends Monday; January 25, 2021 from 9 to 11 am at the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, 205 E. Stanford in Bartow. A Celebration of Life Service will immediately follow at 11 am. Interment will be held at Wildwood Cemetery in Bartow, FL. Due to Covid19, masks are highly recommended for in person attendance. The services will be LIVE streamed on the ‘Bartow ARP Church’ YOU TUBE channel. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, PO Box 1411, Bartow, FL 33831.
