Juanelle "Sandy" Sewell, left this world peacefully and went home to be with her Heavenly Father, Wednesday, February 3, 2016. Sandy was born August 21, 1929 in Winter Haven . She was the daughter of the late Forrest Strout Smith and Lillian Edna (Hardy) Smith. Sandy grew up in Lake Wales and graduated from Lake Wales High School. Sandy was a Methodist for many years and in 1992 joined the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church of Bartow. Sandy was a Judicial Assistant for 42 years to a number of distinguished judges of the 10th Judicial Circuit of Polk County. Sandy was very active in the Bartow Community serving as an officer and board member for the Pilot Club, Zonta Club, Friends of the Library, and was a member of the Bartow Art Guild and Garden Club. She authored and published a book on genealogy called "We The Little People." Sandy went on to publish another book from recipes that were compiled over the years from family and friends titled, "Sunday Lunch At Sandy's." Sandy was also an accomplished wedding cake designer and catered many weddings in the area for more than 20 years. Sandy is survived by a loving family that includes her husband, Arthur of 68 years, two daughters, Karen Hall (Doug) and Marion Harrison (Steve) Lakeland, three grandchildren, Jordan Hall, Stephanie Lazanowski (Austin), and Tyler Hall. She also is survived by her brother, Forrest Strout Smith, Jr. (Valerie), and sister, Ella Jean Miller, and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of her life will be held Tuesday, February 9th at 3:00pm at the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, 205 East Stanford Street in Bartow. A reception for family and friends will follow immediately after the service in the church fellowship hall until 5:30pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bartow Friends of the Library or the Women's Care Center in Bartow.
