Mrs. Joyce E. Dixon, age 75 , passed away from cancer Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at her home in Bowling Green.
Born March 7, 1932 in Commerce, Georgia, Mrs. Dixon was a longtime Fort Meade resident. She was formerly employed by Ben Hill Griffin Inc., where she worked as a sectionizer in Bartow and Frostproof. She was also a member of the Fort Meade Worship Center.
Mrs. Dixon is preceded in death by her first husband Johnnie R. Carnley, Sr., her second husband Joseph P. Dixon and two daughters; Elizabeth Carnley and Peggy McConnaughy. She is survived by a loving family that includes her daughter Deborah Walker and her husband Larry of Bowling Green, her son Johnnie R. Carnley, Jr. of Fort Meade, and two sisters; Barbara Ann Milton of Winter Haven, and Maxine Scroggs. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled by McLean Funeral Home 306 East Broadway in Fort Meade where family will receive friends Sunday, November 25, 2007 from 3 PM to 5 PM. Services for Mrs. Dixon will be held at the Fort Meade Worship Center Monday November 26, 2007 at 2:00 PM.
