Joseph D. Croom

Joseph D. "J.D." Croom, age 79, passed away Monday, June 13, 2011 from heart failure in Winter Haven. Mr. Croom was born on April 9, 1932 in Plant City. He was a member of Peace Creek Baptist Church in Bartow and the Florida National Guard. Mr. Croom retired from US Agrichemical in Fort Meade where he worked as a Maintenance Supervisor. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Lavada S. Croom of Bartow, son Dennis E. Croom (Andrea), two daughters; Darlene Cardullo (Michael), Paula R. Leggett all of Bartow, two brothers; Wesley Croom of Bronson, David Croom of Auburndale, two sisters; Bernice McQuien of Plant City, Mary Waters of GA, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Thursday, June 16th at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow from 6pm to 8pm. Funeral services will follow Friday, June 17th at 11:00am at the funeral home chapel.
