Josefa A. Cavazos

ALTURAS - Josefa Cavazos was divinely called home to be with our Lord on April 10, 2021. She is preceded in death by her parents, Refugio and Isadora; her husband Fernando, her sister Teresita; her son Leonel, her daughter Sylvia, and her grandson Jordan. She will be adoringly remembered by her beloved younger sister and brother, 2 sons, and 2 daughters. She also leaves behind to cherish her memory 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and numerous caring cousins, nieces and nephews. All who knew her will treasure bountiful memories of her warm heart and encouragement and felt her vibrant generosity. She will be remembered for her abundant care of loved ones, friends, and even strangers, selflessly applying her God-given gifts towards the joy and servitude of others. Her deeply-held faith and life-long devotion to Christ Our Lord Almighty lightened the path to all she knew during her life’s journey. She provided unconditional inspiration and resilience as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, godmother, and friend to the many who will profoundly miss her and who regarded her as a treasured individual unlike no other. Josefa is now gloriously cradled by the palm of God’s divine hand as His heavenly angels’ trumpets rejoice in her return. All funeral arrangements are entrusted to Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow. On Saturday, April 17, visitation at 1:00 pm, memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, with an interment following the service at Wildwood Cemetery in Bartow. Masks and social distancing are required. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to the Basilica of Our Lady of San Juan Del Valle-National Shrine, P.O. Box 747, San Juan, TX 78589.
