Johnny E. Mofield

Johnny E. Mofield, age 63, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at the Malcolm Randall VA Medical Center in Gainesville, FL. Born October 18, 1949 in Columbus, KY, Mr. Mofield was a former resident of Bartow, FL.. He was a graduate of Bartow Summerlin Institute, Class of 1967. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving in the Vietnam War. He served with the Congressional Medal of Honor Society under the Presidency of Ron Ray in New York City. He was the recipient of the Alabama Commendation Medal for his service to deployed soldiers of the the 1203rd Engineer Battalion of the Alabama National Guard. Mr. Mofield was preceded in death by his father: Owen E. Mofield and his maternal grandmother: Daisy Reid Johnston . He is survived by his mother: Laurie Mofield of Dothan, AL, a brother: Jerry Mofield of Roanoke, VA, a sister: Linda Bates of Dothan, AL. Interment will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Bartow, FL.
