Johnnie Kay Whitney

Johnnie K. "Kay" Whitney, age 81, died Tues., December 9, 2008 in Largo. Born November 18, 1927 in Birmingham, AL, Mrs. Whitney was a longitme area resident. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Bartow and also worked as a Preschool Teacher for First Methodist School in Bartow. She was also a longtime member of the Pilot Club in Bartow. Kay is preceded in death by her husband William Whitney, Sr.. She is survived by two sons; Kenny Schuck of Largo, Dan Schuck of Alturas, two step sons; Bill Whitney, Jr. and Jay Whitney both of Gainesville. She also leaves behind three step daughters; Cale Batey of Tallahassee, Johna Metcalf, Ley Vedder both of Mount Dora, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by Whidden-McLean Funeral Home 650 East Main Street in Bartow where family will receive friends Monday, December 15th from 6 PM to 8 PM. Services for Mrs. Whitney will be held Tuesday, December 16th at 10:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church 455 South Broadway Ave. Bartow, FL 33830. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church at the same address.
