Mr. John Charles Yost, age 93, passed away Friday, September 4, 2009 from natural causes at home in Bartow. Born March 21, 1916 in Massillon, Ohio, Mr. Yost was the son of the late William and Ana (Silk) Yost. Mr. Yost had been a resident of Bartow since 1953, moving from Plant City at that time. Mr. Yost was a Mining Engineer and was also the owner of Inter-Alloy Corporation of Bartow. He was a member of Asbury Methodist Church in Bartow. Mr. Yost was also a member of; the Bartow Kiwanis Club, Society of Mining Engineers (Polk County Chapter), Sons of the American Revolution, and Sigma-Phi Epsilon. Along with his parents, Mr Yost is preceded in death by his brother William K. Yost, Jr.. He is survived by a loving family that includes his wife of 72 years, Louise B. Yost, two sons; John R. "Bobby" Yost of Lakeland, Donald Yost (Dixie) of Bartow, and sister Barbara J. Yost of St. Petersburg. He also leaves behind five grandchildren; Dawn "Dee Dee" Wright (David) of Bartow, Danny Yost (Jami) also of Bartow, Terry Yost (Allison) of Lakeland, Christopher Yost also of Lakeland, Greg Yost of Raleigh, North Carolina, and ten great grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, 650 East Main Street in Bartow where family will receive friends Tuesday, September 8th from 6pm to 8pm.
