Bartow -John Simpson , age 77, passed away May 18, 2024, at his residence in Bartow. He was born on October 12, 1946, in Tifton, GA, He worked in Maintenance. He enjoyed working on cars, racing cars and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his mother Vida Simpson, brother Elijah Simpson, sister Judy Ball and grandson Devin Davis. He is survived by a loving family that includes his sons James Simpson & Robby Simpson of Bartow, daughters Leann Prevatte & Susan Simpson of Bartow, sisters Mary Loyd (Earl) & Glenda Black (Phillip) of Bartow, brother Rudy Simpson (Delia ) of Bartow, grandchildren Matthew Simpson, Hailey Simpson, Logan Simpson, Skylee Simpson, Vida Hicks, Beth Parmer, Erica Davis, Ryan Davis, Jayla Simpson, Paige Prevatte, Madison Prevatte & Paisley Simpson and many nieces & nephews. Family will receive friends Thursday, May 23, 2024, from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. Funeral service will be held Friday, May 24, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Wildwood Cemetery, Bartow.
