John T. Howell

John T. Howell, age 88, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2016 in Bartow. Born August 8, 1927 in Geneva, AL, he was the son of the late Joseph D. and Izola (Shivers) Howell. John was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, serving in the Army Air Corps in the Pacific Theatre. He returned Bartow and worked for many years as a welder for Mobile Oil Company. John also attended Turning Point Worship Center, former Bartow Christian Assembly, in Bartow. He is preceded in death by his 1st wife Maggie Howell and his 2nd wife Joy McConnell. Mr. Howell is survived by his son, Frank N. Howell (Gayle) of Lyons, GA, his sister, Iris Rawson of Bartow, nine grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Friday, March 11th from 2pm to 3pm at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow. Funeral services will follow at 3:00pm at the funeral home chapel.
