John T. Green, Sr. 69, died Monday, Oct 5, 2009, at his residence. Born March 22, 1940 in Springfield IL, Mr. Green was a Letter Carrier for the US Postal Service for 30 yrs. He was a Catholic & a US Navy veteran. He was preceded in death by his father: Paul A. Green & his first wife: Joann Green. He is survived his wife: Dorothy Green of Bartow; son: John Green, Jr of Pleasant Plains, IL & step-son Craig Pate of Atlanta, GA; 5 daughters: Tanya Anderson; Dawn Kuhn & Kim Meyer all of Springfield; Nikki Cutforth of Winter Haven, FL; Lisa Cortelyou of Jasper, TX; A step-son: Rick Standage of Springfield; 2 step daughters: Shari Standage of Springfield; Cathy Standage of Austin, TX; mother: Ruth Green; 4 brothers: Paul Green; David Green; Mike Green & Tim Green, all of Springfield; 3 sisters: Joyce Gaddis & Elaine Byers both of Springfield & Laura Mars of Marchfield, WI; 15 grandchildren & 6 great grandchildren. Family will receive friends Friday Oct , 6-8 pm at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. Funeral services & interment will be held in Springfield, IL.
