John W. Colson

Bartow -John W. Colson, age 91, passed away April 30, 2024, at Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale. He was born on November 24, 1932, in Tecumseh, MI. He was a United States Air Force Veteran. He was a Design Draftsman for Tecumseh Products. He enjoyed photography, reading, and doing mission work. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and dogs Pepper & Sparky. He was preceded in death by his stepson Carl Bowen, stepdaughter Laurie Sue Bowen and brother Dick Colson. He is survived by a loving family that includes his wife Shirley A. Colson of Bartow, son Jack Colson of Guatemala City, daughters Jill Brown of MI & Michele Tessier of Vero Beach, FL, stepsons Bradley Bowen of Sevierville, TN & Pastor Paul G. Bowen (Greg) of Bartow,stepdaughter Anne Marie Chaffin of Sevierville, TN, brother Jim Colson of Tecumseh, MI, 12 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Family will receive friends Tuesday, May 7, 2024, from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Victory Fellowship Church, Bartow. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Victory Fellowship Church. Interment will be held at Oak Hill Burial Park, Lakeland.
