John Robert "Jack" Booream, age 85, passed away Friday, January 8, 2016 in Winter Haven. Born September 12, 1930 in Bartow, Jack was the son of the late John W. and Adele Hass Booream. Mr. Booream was a Korean War Veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy. He served as the director of the American Quarter Horse Assoc. and the Florida Quarter Horse Assoc. He was a longtime member and deacon of the Bartow A.R.P. Church. He owned and operated Polk Equipment Company in Bartow, serving the phosphate industry for many years. Jack was an avid hunter, fisherman, and classic car enthusiast. He is survived by his wife, of 63 years, Nancy Meredith Booream of Babson Park, his son John M. Booream of Babson Park, his daughter Janet Booream of Winter Haven, and his sister, Betty Booream Glasgow (Richard) of Babson Park. He also leaves behind his grandsons: John Osborne, Jack Bachlott, and great granddaughter Victoria Osborne. The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 12th from 5pm to 7pm at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow. Funeral services will follow Wednesday, January 13th at 11:00am at the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church of Bartow, 205 East Stanford Street in Bartow. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
