John P. Bernard

John P. Bernard, age 89, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at his home in Bartow. Born May 5, 1927 in Washburn, WI, he was the son of the late John W. and Eva (Nelson) Bernard. John was retired from Wonder bread where he worked as a sales representative for many years. Mr. Bernard was a veteran of WWII and Korea, serving in the Marine Corps. He was also a longtime member and deacon of the First Assembly of God of Bartow. John is survived by a loving family that includes his wife, of 62 years, Lynn Bernard of Bartow, his three children: John P. Bernard (Robin) of Bartow, Janet K. Higgins (Joseph) of Oconomowoc, WI, and Mark A. Bernard (Anita) of West Allis, WI. He also leaves behind three grandchildren: Michael, Patrick, Marcus, and five great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 14th from 10am to 11am at the First Assembly of God, 915 South Broadway in Bartow, FL.
