John Oliver Beard

John Oliver “Buddy” Beard, age 89, of Lakeland, went to be with the Lord on April 15, 2024, at LRMC due to a short illness. He was a great father and friend to everyone that knew him. He will be greatly missed by all. Mr. Beard was preceded in death by his father, John D. Beard; mother, Martha Hazel Beavers Campbell; brothers, Allen and Alton, Robert Neal Beard, Clayton Grover Beard; sister, Sophia Olivia Beard Davison; daughter, Sheila Beard Joiner. He is survived by his son, Paul Alan Beard (Tempie); sister, Jackie Beard Argo. John retired from Mulberry Phosphates, where he worked as a maintenance supervisor. John was a hard worker and generous with his time to all. He loved to garden, golf, and to spend time with his family and his dogs (Tobi, Gabi). Services will be announced at a later date.
