Joan Lee Johnson spent a lifetime putting others first, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, wisdom, and boundless generosity.

Joan L. Johnson, 70, of Bartow, Florida, passed away on July 10, 2026, at Lakeland Regional Health and Medical Center. She was born on November 7, 1955, in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Joan was known for her selfless spirit, kind heart, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends. She worked as a cashier, but her most cherished and important role was that of a stay-at-home mom, which she embraced with love and dedication. She found great joy in sharing the hope she found in God’s Kingdom and loved spending time talking with others about her faith. Her favorite scripture was Revelation 21:4. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, and creating memories with those she loved most. In her younger years, she was active in high school as a member of the pep squad and water ski team. Whether she was lending a helping hand, offering encouragement, or bringing laughter to everyday moments, Joan had a gift for making people feel valued and cared for.

She was preceded in death by her father, Prescott Adamson; her mother, Joan Adamson; and her brother, Sherm Adamson.

Joan is survived by her loving husband, Rick Johnson of Bartow; her daughter, Michelle Johnson of Palmetto; her son, Rick Johnson of Fruit Cove; her son-in-law, Chris Johnson of Palmetto; her daughter-in-law, Marissa Johnson of Fruit Cove; her cherished grandchildren, Olivia Juntunen, Skylar Johnson, Zoey Rowe, and Xander Rowe, all of Palmetto, and Rhett Johnson and Maddox Johnson of Fruit Cove; her brother, Rick Adamson of Cincinnati, Ohio; and her sister-in-law, Sherry Adamson of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Joan’s greatest joys were her family and faith. Her guidance and generosity will continue to live on in the lives of those who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
