Jo S. Deyoung

Bartow - Jo S. DeYoung, age 91, passed away on June 25, 2025, at Lakeland Regional Health and Medical Center. She was born on July 10, 1933, in Atlanta, GA, the daughter of Edward and Virginia (Elder) Stephens. Jo graduated from North Georgia College in 1953. She was a First Grade Teacher. Jo was a member of McLeod Memorial Presbyterian Church & a MENSA Society Member. She was also Co-founder of the Bartow Adult Concert Band. Jo was preceded in death by her son James M. DeYoung. She is survived by her husband of 71 years John R. DeYoung, Jr. of Lakeland, son Jeff DeYoung (Connie) of Englewood, and grandchildren Emma DeYoung of Tampa and Alex DeYoung of Englewood. Family will receive friends Sunday, June 29, 2025, from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. Funeral service will be held Monday, June 30, 2025, at 11:00 AM at McLeod Memorial Presbyterian Church. Interment will be held at Wildwood Cemetery, Bartow.
