Jim R. Irby

James Ray Irby, born March 2, 1933 in Letona, Arkansas. Parents are Iva Dunkin Irby Culp Bostwick and James R. Irby. Graduated at Ionia High School in 1950, playing football and basketball. Married to Jo Anne Ellen Kenyon on October 10, 1953, just celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary. Started his work career at Oldsmobile in Lansing, Michigan. Enlisted in the Air Force in 1954 and served for 20 years. After his military career, he worked in security at various facilities until his retirement from Lakeland Regional Hospital at age 62. He had two children, Pam married to Guy Daughtery and David, preceded in death on April 30, 2000 at age 39. Two Grandchildren, Jesse Daughtery and Dawn Irby. Four great grand children, Lainey and Carsen Daughtery and Josie and Daveava Teague. His loved his cats Sassy and Miss Kitty. He enjoyed feeding the wildlife at Fountain View Mobile Home Park. He really enjoyed the Windjammer cruise that he took to various Caribbean Islands. He was an avid Gator Fan. A memorial service will be held Sat. Jan. 5th at 11am at the Green Pond Baptist Church 5965 Green Pond Cemetery Road, Polk City, FL 33868.
