Jesse "Skeet" Mcgowan, Jr

Mr. Jesse L. "Skeet" McGowan, Jr., age 78, of Bartow, Fla., died Friday, December 17, 2010, at Winter Haven Hospital. Born May 9, 1932 in Washington County, GA, Mr. McGowan has been a resident of Bartow since 1949, moving from Georgia. He was a Master Craftsman employed at Walt Disney World for 25 years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. He is preceded in death by his wife: Valeta McGowan. He is survived by his son: Stephen M. McGowan of Vero Beach, FL; two brothers: Willie Frank “Jack” McGowan of Autryville, NC & Frank Albert “Butch” McGowan of Albuquerque, NM; two sisters: Dorothy Adams of Ft Worth, FL & Betty Jean Coble of Glade Water, TX. Family will receive friends Wednesday, December 22, 2010, 6-8 pm at Whidden-McLean Funeral, Bartow. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will be at Bartow Wildwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Humaine Society of Polk County 1519 Oak View Circle S.E. Winter Haven, FL 33880.
