Jerry Peterson

Bartow – Jerry Peterson, age 77, passed away on July 3, 2026, at Winter Haven Hospital. He was born on March 5, 1949, in Lake Alfred, Florida. He dedicated his career to working as a carpenter. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and watching reruns of classic westerns. Above all else, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Linda Peterson; his son, Jerry W. Peterson and wife; his daughter, Valerie Duke and husband ; his grandchildren, David Barwick, Jerricka Peterson, Jerred Peterson, and Gwen Garcia; his brother, Robert Peterson; and countless other loving family members. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. Funeral service will be held Thursday, July 9, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Christian Home Freewill Baptist Church. Interment will be held at Wildwood Cemetery, Bartow.
