Jerry M. Mitchell

Jerry M. Mitchell, age 75, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Tidewell Hospice House in Bradenton. Born July 13, 1940 in Dunedin, FL Mr. Mitchell was a resident of Bartow area since 1955, moving from New Port Richey, FL. He was a Grower & Broker in the Citrus Industry for many years. He was a member of Bartow Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church where is served as a deacon and choir member. He was a graduate of Summerlin Institute and the Citadel Military College. He was a Vietnam Army veteran. He was a past president of the Peace River Country Club, former Board Chairman of the Bartow Memorial Hospital, Past President of the Bartow Rotary Club, Past Commander Mulberry American Legion Post #72 and Past Area Legion Commander. He is survived by his daughter: Ashley M. Marston (Heath), Bradenton; son: Travis Mitchell (Lisa), Bartow; brother, Roy Dan Mitchell, Alturas; two sisters: Lynette Phillips, Bradenton and Beverly S. Mitchell, Bartow and six grandchildren. Family will receive friends Monday, April 4, 2016 from 3:00 P.M. - 4:00 P.M. at the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, 205 E. Stanford St, Bartow. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 P.M. at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tidewell Hospice, 5955 Rand Blvd, Sarasota, FL. 34238 or Bartow Public Library, 2150 S.
