Jerry Wayne Hendrix

Jerry Wayne Hendrix, age 79, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2017 in Bartow. Born March 24, 1937 in Bartow, Mr. Hendrix was the son of the late Sanford Hillard and Sally (Wilkes) Hendrix. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Wayne worked for many years as a substance abuse counselor in Polk County. He was also a member of the North Jackson Church of Christ in Bartow. Mr. Hendrix is survived by a loving family that includes his four children: Wayne E. Hendrix (Sharon), John E. Hendrix (Linda), Wanda Hendrix Powell, and Jerry A. Hendrix (Alane). He also leaves behind nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 21st from 10am to 11am at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow. Funeral services will follow at 11:00am at the funeral home chapel.
