Jeanette "Jenny" Smith

Bartow - Jeanette "Jenny" Smith, age 92, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2022 peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family. Jenny was born January 9, 1930 in Bartow, FL to Dewey & Vina Fields and sister to the late Charlie Fields. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bartow. She was a Switchboard operator/receptionist for WR Grace. She was also a member of American Legion Auxiliary, the LLL club and the Anna club. She was preceded in death by her husband John "Slugger" Smith. Jenny is survived by her son Lex Thompson & wife Carol Anne of Tallahassee, four daughters Virginia Albritton of Bartow, Teri Markley of Bartow, Lynda McPherson of Wesley Chapel and Susan DeNeve & husband Mike of Bartow, 9 Grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren. Family will receive friends Tuesday, April 5, 2022 from 1 to 2 pm at First Baptist Church of Bartow. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at First Baptist Church of Bartow.
