Jean C. Frederick Farrand, of Addison, New York and Mulberry, Florida, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. She was born on June 2, 1941, in Queens, New York, to John and Muriel (Eggleston) Frederick, both of whom preceded her in death. Jean graduated from Savona Central School in 1959 and went on to attend the American Banking Institute, later continuing her education at Corning Community College. She dedicated over 21 years of service to Community Bank in Addison and Corning, where she was known for her strong work ethic and kind spirit. Jean was first married to John Carr, who predeceased her in 1980. She later married Karl L. Farrand on August 10, 1984, who predeceased her in 2019. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Joanne L. Johnston, and her brothers, Steven R. Frederick, Kenneth L. Frederick and sister-in-law Kay Carr. She is survived by her daughter, Judy L. Carr of Corning, New York. She is also survived by her stepchildren: Michael T. Farrand of Elmira, New York; Mark E. Farrand of Painted Post, New York; and Lisa K. Hunt of Addison, New York. Jean was a proud grandmother to Susan L. Willis (Joshua) of Bartow, Florida; John C. Johnston; Katherine M. Johnston of Bonifay, Florida; Melinda S. Space of Addison; Serena K. Space of Campbell; and Aaron C. Space of Campbell. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Joshua Willis, Chastin Willis, and Brandon Willis, and her great-great-grandchildren, Ava Willis, Willa Willis, and Silas Willis. She is further survived by several nieces and nephews, as well as her brother-in-law and sister-in-laws, Harry Carr and Ginny Frederick. Jean was a member of the Lakes Chapter BCA and cherished her time spent at Seneca Lake during the summers and in Mulberry, Florida during the winters. She will be remembered for her warmth, strength, and deep love for her family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
