Janice Shirlene Vaughn Hughey

Mrs. Janice Shirlene Vaughn Hughey, age 86, a resident of Millbrook, AL went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 22, 2024. Funeral services for Mrs. Hughey will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Victory Baptist Church with Pastor Joey Byrd & Pastor Steve Sanders officiating. The interment will be in Brookside Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Hughey was preceded in death by her husband Chester V. Hughey, her parents Dock Otis Vaughn & Ruby Mae Weeks Vaughn, her sister Fay Meacham and her brothers David & Otis Vaughn. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church where she served with a servant's heart. She was also known as the "Cake Lady" to many for her wonderful cakes that she made. She is survived by her loving children Vicky Armstrong (Bob), Janice Mitchell (Michael), Todd Hughey (Susan), her sisters Beverly Hollowell (Chuck), Sue Long (Clarence), LouJean McDonald (Royce), her granddaughters Ellen Thomas (Craig), Brooke Estes (Devon), and host of nieces and nephews. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Victory Baptist Church, 5481 Main Street, Millbrook, AL 36054, in her memory. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the church. Brookside Funeral Home, Crematorium & Memorial Gardens of Millbrook, AL directing.
