Janice F. Cothern

Janice F. Cothern, age 75, passed away Friday, July 28, 2023. She was born March 2, 1948 in Douglas, GA. She was a Project Branch Chief Coordinator for Polk County Government. She was of Baptist faith. Janice was the former Volunteer of the Year for her work with Elderly Services presented by the Lions Club and she was the Past President of Harmony Kingdom Collectors Club. She was preceded in death by her mother Faye Tomlinson, her father Leroy Cothern, and her brother Ronnie Cothern. She is survived by her sister-in-law Carol Cothern, two nephews Brett Cothern (Arla) and Christopher Martin (Danielle), aunt Jessie (Foda) Pierce, lifelong friend Kate Markley and numerous cousins. The Family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home. Memorial service will follow at 2:00 pm Wednesday at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home. Inurnment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Haines City, FL.
