Janet D. Powell

Janet D. (Sweet) Powell, age 72, of Lakeland, FL., died Wednesday, June 13, 2007, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. Ms. Powell was a homemaker. She was the daughter of the late Harry Sweet and the late Mabel Walker. She is also survived by her daughter, Dixie Lott of Lakeland; son, James Lee Powell of Clewiston; sisters: Gloria Boone of West Virginia, Jeannie Sellars of Lake Port, FL., Brenda Walker of Clewiston, FL., & Marcie Braxton; brothers: Charles Sweet of Clewiston, FL., & James Sweet of West Virginia; and four grandchildren & three great-grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by McLean Funeral Home, 306 East Broadway, Fort Meade. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM Saturday, June 16, 2007 at the Belle Glade Church of God in Belle Glade, FL. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM. Rev. Kenneth W. Lott officiating. Interment will be at Forever Glades Cemetery in Belle Glade.
