James Larry Wolfe, of Temple Terrace, Florida, born on November 18, 1942, in Lexington, Kentucky, went to be with the Lord on November 6, 2024. Larry’s six years of service in the U.S. Army Reserve graduated into a lifetime of patriotism. Some knew Larry as a mountain biker; many more knew Larry as a flooring business owner. But, most people knew Larry as a faithful minister of the Gospel. He studied the Scripture from his childhood until his last days, daily meditations which were reflected in all his actions. Larry served with a shepherd’s love over several congregations whom he pastored with compassion and gentleness. He had a heart for the hurting and encouragement for the struggling. Larry’s greatest earthly pleasures centered around his family. Larry was preceded in death by his father, James, mother, Bessie, and son, Phillip. He is survived by his wife, Carole, his sons, David and Allen, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, his brother, Warren, and his sister, Jeanine York. A visitation will be from 10:00 to 10:30 AM on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home (650 E Main Street, Bartow, FL 33830). The memorial service will begin at 10:30 AM at the same location. The graveside service will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery (4620 US Hwy 98 S, Lakeland, FL 33812).
