James E. Thomason

James E. Thomason, age 88, passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2016 in Lakeland. Born March 11, 1927 in Liberty, TN, he was the son of the late John and Winnie (Fish) Thomason. Mr Thomason was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Army. James retired from Anchor Glass, where he faithfully served for many years. He was a member of The First Baptist Church of Highland City. Mr. Thomason is preceded in death by his wife Alice M. Thomason who passed away in October of 2015 and son James G. Thomason. He is survived by a loving family that includes two sons: Charles Thomason (Cathy) of Richmond, IN, John Thomason (Nancy) of Lakeland, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 3rd, 2016 from 5pm to 6pm at the First Baptist Church of Highland City, 5410 Yarborough Lane, Lakeland, FL 33812 . Funeral services will follow at 6:00pm at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Highland City.
