James Monroe Smith

Lake Wales - James Smith, age 80, passed away January 10, 2021 in Lake Wales. He was born on September 5, 1940 in Lake Wales. He was an Army veteran. He worked in the Dry Wall industry all his life and was the owner of Jimmy's Dry Wall. He enjoyed football, fishing, and his family. Most of all, he loved spending his time with his grandchildren. Along with his parents, Mr. Smith is preceded in death by his daughters Connie Smith & Karen Summer and brothers Cotton Smith & Earl Smith. He is survived by a loving family that includes his wife, Patsy Smith, daughters, Donna Goodwin & Cynthia Cribbs, son, Vince Smith, sisters; Carol Earnest, Sharon Rayburn, Glenda Keene, Shirley Feggle, brother, Rick Smith, 8 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and extended family. Family will receive friends on Friday, January 15, 2021 from 10AM -11AM at Whidden- McLean Funeral Home Bartow. A Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 AM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Gandy Cemetery, Connersville.
