James Byron Rials

James Byron Rials, age 89, passed away Monday, March 2, 2026. He was born in Andalusia, AL to Ivey & Clara Rials. He grew up in Sampson, AL and joined the US Army in 1952. He honorably served his country by completing 2 tours in the Vietnam conflict, where he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal. He spent 22 Years in the United States Army obtaining the rank of Master Sargent. He was known and loved by so many people for his compassion and kindness, helping many people throughout his life. James was a man whose word was as good as gold. A truly decent, honest, and loving man who will be deeply missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivey Matthew Rials and Clara Jones Rials, sister Frances West, two brothers Cecil Rials and I.D. Rials. James is survived by his loving wife Elnor Rials, two daughter Barbara Campbell (Scott) and Brenda Clark (David), two sons James Rials and Danny Rials. seven grandchildren Brandi Lough, Matthew Rials, Ronald Duncan, Danielle Duncan, Jeremy Prater, Chelsea Maxwell and Misty Prater, three great grandchildren Brantlee Duncan, Christopher Lough and Delaynie Duncan. The family will receive friends Sunday, March 8, 2026 from 1:00 pm to 1:45pm at Whidden-McLean funeral home in Bartow, FL.
