James William "Billy" Newman

Highland City - James William "Billy" Newman, age 66, passed away Thursday, July 5, 2018 at his residence in Highland City. Born April 8, 1952 in Huntington, WV to Billy Jack and Norma Conner Newman, Mr. Newman was a longtime resident of Bartow and Highland City, moving from West Virginia. He was a maintenance mechanic for Mosaic/IMC Phosphate for 38 years. Mr. Newman was an avid racing fan (NHRA), fisherman, and amateur photographer. He loved sports, including the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Tampa Bay Rays. And he loved his family. Mr. Newman is preceded in death by his parents and younger brother: Michael Newman. He was survived by his wife: Robin Newman, Highland City, a daughter: Tiffany Newman, Zionville, NC, a son: James W Newman, II, Normal, IL, sister Kathy Grunewald [Eddie], Crawfordville, FL, 5 grandchildren; Samantha, Kyler, Kaleb, Conner & Justin, 2 great grandchildren: Pheobe & Nicklaus, and numerous nieces and nephews.
