BARTOW, FL - James L. “Jim” Ransbottom II, 58, passed away on April 20, 2022, at Bartow Regional Medical Center. Born in Anne Arundel County, Maryland on January 4, 1964, he grew up primarily in West Virginia and after college lived many years in Delaware. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Lee, and Leona Sue (Nutter) Ransbottom, and by his step-grandfather and step-grandmother James B. “J.B.” and Alma Sellers. Mr. Ransbottom was a chef who spent most of his last years providing nutritional support for senior adults and the disabled. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law Shelly and Gary Clauze of West Virginia and his stepmother Cindy Sellers Ransbottom of Bartow, Florida, as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins. For most of the past 17 years, Jim has resided in Bartow, Florida except for several years when he lived in Asheville, NC. He moved back to Bartow, FL 3 years ago, where he currently resided. From his youth, he loved and played competitive tennis and was a member of the USTA. He had added pickleball to his activities in recent years and also loved and was an advocate for animals. He was Episcopalian. He will be laid to rest with his parents in Maryland.
