James A. Henderson, 81, of Bartow, died Sunday, June 6, 2010, at Bartow Regional Medical Center. Born February 24, 1929 in Auburn, MS., Mr. Henderson has been a resident of Bartow since 1955, moving from Mississippi. Mr Henderson was owner of H & H Fiberglass, Inc, manufacturing Flare & Ralley Sports Boats for several years. He was a member of Bartow First Baptist Church serving as a usher and Sunday school teacher for many years. He was an avid hunter & fisherman. He was a US Army veteran serving as a tank commander in the Korean War, He is survived by his wife of 53 years: JoAnn H. Henderson; son: James Steven Henderson of Lake Buffum; three daughters: Tami & husband Tommy Dubose of Bartow; Lynda & husband Mike Altman of Lakeland; Carolyn & husband Buddy Halford of Brookhaven, MS; brother: Marion & wife Georgia Henderson of Natchez, MS; two sisters: Marie & husband Glen Johnson of Jackson, MS; JoAnn Rutland of Raymond, MS; several grandchildren & great grandchildren. Family will receive friends Thursday, June 10, 2010, 2-3 PM at Bartow First Baptist Church, 410 East Church Street. Funeral services will follow at 3 pm at the Church.
