James Earl Glisson

James E. Glisson, 65, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Winter Haven Hospital of heart failure. Born September 3, 1948 in Donalsonville, GA, Mr. Glisson was a resident of Bartow for most of his life, moving from Georgia. He was a Vietnam Army Veteran. He was a Supervisor for IMC Phosphate for 37 years. . He was a member of the Bartow American Legion Post 3 and the Winter Haven VFW Post. He attended the Turning Point Worship Center, Bartow. Mr. Glisson was survivored by his wife of 43 years, Janet R Glisson, Bartow; daughter, Celena Lee, Fort Meade; brother, Danny Glisson, Auburndale; sister, Linda Marple, Bartow; 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren & many nieces & nephews. Family will receive friends Friday, February 21, 2014 from 6-8 PM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Turning Point Worship Center, Bartow. Interment with military honors will be held at Gandy Cemetery, Connersville.
