James Dewitt Frady

Mr. James Dewitt "Dee" Frady, Jr., age 69, died Thursday, January 8, 2009 in Lakeland. Born July 28, 1939 in Rutherfordton, NC, he was the son of the James Dewitt Sr. and Helen (Williams) Frady. Mr. Frady was a former teacher and baseball coach and had worked for American University. Mr. Frady had been a resident of Bartow since 2002. Dee was an avid golfer and sports enthusiast. Mr. Frady is survived by his mother Helen of Rutherfordton, NC, two sisters; Helen K. "Kay" Deviney of Rutherfordton, Keita Jane Lanford of Spartanburg, SC, an aunt Margaret Faye Nelson of Bartow and a cousin Ray Elliotte also of Bartow. A memorial service will be held in North Carolina for Mr. Frady at a later date. Whidden-McLean Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Frady's name to Bartow Golf Course.
